Hopewell Street 2023

Tash's transformation of Hopewell Street in the Barton and Tredworth part of Gloucester City is truly remarkable. Over two years, she dedicated herself to addressing the poor housing conditions and antisocial behaviours plaguing the area, such as littering and fly-tipping. Through her efforts, she not only improved the physical environment but also fostered strong bonds within the community.

For her 2023 project, Tash decided to focus on Hopewell Street, recognizing it as the perfect canvas for revitalization. With 63 Victorian terraced houses as her palette, she embarked on a journey to bring vibrancy and life to the neighbourhood. Utilizing Frootko's trademark vibrant colours, her creative team painted the houses and cultivated festival styled community gardens.Huge murals were skillfully crafted by artists Sophie Mess and Stuart Doust adding depth and character to the neighbourhood's vibrant transformation.

The impact of Tash's project has been profound, receiving acclaim not only locally but also internationally. By infusing art and culture into the heart of Barton and Tredworth, she has not only beautified the area but also placed it firmly on the map as a hub of creativity and community spirit. Hopewell Street now stands as a shining example of the power of grassroots initiatives and the transformative potential of community-driven projects.
