High Street Tredworth Mural Artists

NERONE

Nerone is a French street artist who has conquered the art world with his sublime style of painting. As one of the most fascinating and prolific street artists of the 21st century, Nerone expanded the traditional practice of street art in groundbreaking ways.

By mixing floral art in an abstract style, Nerone brings the spotlight onto the colours and blooming appeal of the subject. His art is unique and represents a fresh breath in the world of street art. His compelling works of art speak to viewers in a very absorbing and dynamic way with an unstoppably upbeat vibe.

Throughout his career, he has been commissioned to work for different artistic events around the world, such as the International Flowers Festival in Seoul, the FIA Formula E Championship in Berlin, the Flower Show Turkey in Istanbul and the AOTA festival in Florida.

His colourful walls can now be seen in many places, including Paris, London, New-York, Cartagena, Bangkok, Berlin, Marrakech, Seoul and Florida.

Nerone created two stunning murals on Tredworth High Street including the title piece to launch the project.

HAZARDONE

HazardOne was recognised as one of the Top 5 female graffiti artists in the UK, The Guardian, and the Top 25 female street artists worldwide, The Huffington Post.

She combines rich colour palettes with illumination and modern-age glitch effects to create striking portraits using traditional free-hand graffiti techniques.

From a 7-storey mural in the heart of St.Pauls Bristol, a community project on the Arizona-Mexico border, to the 79th Floor of 3 World Trade Centre, New York - Her work takes her all over the planet!

POLLY MERREDEW

Polly Merredew is a Coventry-based artist who uses abstract geometric shapes and bold, systematic hues to create subtle nuances of movement and progression within a painting. The resulting visual effects can be both stimulating and confusing to the eye as works appear to shimmer and move, often in unexpected ways.

Polly painted a super colourful optical illusion design on one of the High Street residential houses which looks sensational!

MINT + MABEL

Mint + Mabel was founded by two local designers: Hattie and Erin who met whilst working together in a Cheltenham design agency. With twenty years of combined industry experience in graphic design and illustration, Hattie and Erin teamed up to create hand-painted murals and have since been part of many projects within Gloucestershire Primary Schools.

We are delighted that this dymanic duo painted two of the murals on the High Street Tredworth project. The centrepiece One Stop Shop Mural ‘‘Welcome to High Street Tredworth’’ and the school competition wall.

Jo Howe

Gloucester-based artist Jo Howe, creates stunning vibrant abstract art. She is a member of the Stroud Artist Cooperative and runs community projects for kids as well as promoting other artist in her “Art Lives “ vlogs on her YouTube channel.

Jo ran a cat art workshop as part of the High Street Tredworth project and the artwork created later become part of a mural on the High Street.

SIAN STOREY

Sian Storey is a mural artist based in Basingstoke. She creates paintings and murals inspired by nature, travel and beauty, and has worked with the acclaimed Upfest in Bristol to create large scale street art.

The beauty of nature is a common theme in Sian’s paintings, yet paradoxically it's her passion for urban art that ensures her work is so vibrant and textured - look for the splashes of spray paint dripping over her delicate brushwork. 

Sian painted a magical wildlife piece for the High Street Tredworth transformation based on the streets residents favourite animals. The huge Fox and Kingfisher NOW watch over the rewilded community garden.

PAPER WALLs

Hannah is the Bristol based sign painter, designer and muralist behind Paper Walls. She uses traditional sign painting techniques that are always hand painted for a human touch. Her mural designs are vibrant and playful, and she often takes inspiration from traditional sign painting letter forms to incorporate wording alongside illustrative elements.

Hannah transformed the well loved take away ‘‘Chicken Feast on the High Street with a sensational piece to reflect the streets multi-cultural community through textile and pattern.

Sign Painting by Dawn

Dawn is a traditional sign-painter based in the South West of the UK, (Cheltenham, Gloucestershire). She has created signage for many well known companies including Giffords Circus, Daylesford Organic and Dunkertons Cider.

Dawn reinstated the original POBJOY sweet sign to High Street Tredworth which can be found on the corner of High Street and Dynevor Street.

KATIE SCOTT

Based in Manchester, Katie is a mural and street artist who works with spray paint on large scale walls and surfaces. With a background in illustration Katie's work is informed by traditional art practices and storytelling used to create magical pieces which combine elements of realism with a fantastical colour palette. Much of her work features portraiture and nature, turning previously drab environments into enchanting and vibrant spaces.

Katie created an incredible design celebrating Jamaica on a popular Hot Spicy Caribbean takeaway including the motto ‘‘Out of One Many People’’ as part of the High Street transformation.

Stuart Doust

Stuart's involvement in the Rainbow Street projects has been extensive. Initially joining as a painter and inspired by the Rainbow Square artworks, he later transitioned into mural painting himself.

As the partner to the creative director, Tash Frootko, Stuart has consistently contributed to every Rainbow Street project.

Stuart curated a community-driven mural on High Street Tredworth, drawing inspiration from the project’s collague workshop. The super vibrant abstract artwork can be seen on the Vape Vault shop.

Murmur

Bristol born and Gloucester based artist, ‘‘Murmur’’, has been making art on the streets since the 1980s. As well as decades of painting murals in the UK, Europe and the Middle East, Murmur also enjoys picking up discarded and left behind objects and reinventing them as works of art.

Murmur painted ‘‘Cat’s Corner’’ on High Street Tredworth, As well as her own designs, Murmur included pictures of cats created by local children and residents and gave them names in over 20 lauguages to reflect the diversity of the area.

HOPEWELL STREET Mural Artist

Sophie mess

Sophie Mess is a street artist and painter based in the UK, creating vibrant botanical inspired artworks, bringing the colourful beauty of nature to the urban landscape, transforming spaces and inspiring positivity.

Sophie painted the corner of Hopewell Street in 2023 with huge flowers and typography which is adored by the community and visitors to the area.

Rainbow Square Mural Artists

ZOË POWER

Zoë Power is a multi-disciplinary artist, working in the fields of illustration, print and typography.

Zoë graduated with an MA in Multidisciplinary Print Media at the University of the West of England, Bristol. With a love of craft and typography, Zoë has also studied traditional sign writing and frequently works with individuals and creative teams to make their businesses look more beautiful.

She created a vibrant mural on Rainbow Square, St Kilda Parade as part of the Rainbow Square project in 2022.

Eloisa HENDERSON-FIGUEROA

Eloisa’s eye for colour really makes her mural work pop. She uses collage as her inspiration with big shapes and bold colours. Eloisa created an eye catching large scale mural in Gloucester’s Rainbow Square which looks incredible.
